United Way Teams Up With SeaWorld Orlando to Thank Leadership Donors

United Way teamed up with SeaWorld Orlando on Sunday to thank and recognize more than 2,500 Leadership donors who’ve made huge difference in helping local people in need.

The event, which honors individuals donating $1,000 or more per year to United Way, has become annual holiday tradition for many local families.

Kids have an especially great time, and this year was no exception. Shamu and friends were on hand to greet everyone during the special recognition breakfast, and games, face painting, photos with a life-size model of Dwight Howard, animal encounters and other activities added to the fun.

During the program, United Way President/CEO Robert H. (Bob) Brown offered heartfelt thanks to the leadership donors, who collectively contributed an astounding $3.7 million of the total $17.1 million United Way raised last year.  “In these difficult times, you have made a tremendous difference,” Brown said. “On behalf of United Way and the community we serve, I thank you for your leadership and generosity.”

Following breakfast, guests proceeded to the park, which was beautifully decked out for the holidays.

As an added bonus, park hours were extended to 11 p.m., giving everyone a chance to enjoy the special SeaWorld Christmas Celebration and the amazing fireworks show − a fitting end to a perfect day!

Many thanks to United Way’s dedicated Leadership donors and to SeaWorld Orlando, which has generously hosted this event for the past 13 years. Click here to learn more about becoming a Leadership donor.
