It’s Time to ‘Step Right Up!’ for United Way’s Volunteer Carnival

Reading to children is one of several activities planned for this year's Step Right Up! volunteer carnival. Free games, prizes, food and fun are also in store.

Things are busy right now at Heart of Florida United Way’s Volunteer Resource Center as we look forward to National Volunteer Week and our second annual Step Right Up! volunteer carnival.

As you may already know, Step Right Up! is a family-friendly event featuring free games, prizes, drinks, food and fun. It’s being held this year on Saturday,  April 21, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., at Heart of Florida United Way, 1940 Traylor Blvd., Orlando, FL 32804.

Even Bigger & Better This Year!
Last year’s carnival was a major success that attracted more than 300 guests and 13 nonprofit agencies.

With even bigger plans underway for this year, we’re excited to have Orlando Police Chief Paul Rooney serving as our event chair.  Also adding to the excitement will be special guest Bo Outlaw, the Orlando Magic’s Community Ambassador.

Among the free activities will be bowling, Scrabble, a bounce house, and even a horse and dog exhibit, compliments of the Orlando Police Department’s Mounted Patrol and K-9 units.

We’ll also have terrific opportunities to learn about volunteering at local nonprofit agencies, including the Adult Literacy League, Simeon Resource and Development Center, the Children’s Home Society and Hope CommUnity Center, all of whom will be on hand during the carnival.

Just like last year, guests will be able to complete on-site volunteer projects that support United Way’s focus on Building Safe Communities through Education. There will also be plenty of chances to earn free LIVE UNITED t-shirts

So don’t miss this amazing event! We hope to see you there! Click here for additional details.
