United Way Campaign Chair Shawn Bartelt, Vice President & General Manager of WFTV-Channel 9 and WRDQ Central Florida’s TV 27

With United Way’s Campaign nearing the midway point, $8 million has been raised so far, according to Campaign Chair Shawn Bartelt, Vice President & General Manager of WFTV-Channel 9 and WRDQ Central Florida’s TV 27.

While most workplace campaigns are still running, Bartelt said early results have been promising for Walt Disney World, Publix, Fifth Third Bank, Florida Hospital, OUC–The Reliable One, PCL  Construction, SunTrust Bank, Sea World, Tupperware, UPS and others.

“Our $18 million goal is ambitious, but reflects growing and urgent need,” Bartelt said. “Every donated dollar helps someone in need, so I urge everyone in the community to give as generously as they can.”

Dollars raised by last year’s workplace campaign helped improve the lives of more than 347,500 Central Floridians in need.
