Thanksgiving baskets to be donated to United Way’s Together for Tomorrow families

2013-Wordpress---TFT-Thanksgiving-basketsIn 2013, the Muslim Women of Orlando will continue their support of Heart of Florida United Way’s Schools and Communities: Together for Tomorrow program with their 3rd Annual Hope in a Basket Thanksgiving baskets. Over the past three years, the Muslim Women of Orlando have helped get sponsors to pack and give Thanksgiving baskets complete with turkey and all the trimmings to 290 HFUW Together for Tomorrow families in need  in Orange, Osceola, and Seminole County schools.

Last year, students at Memorial Middle School, Palmetto elementary, Richmond Heights Elementary, Reedy Creek Elementary, and English Estate Elementary all received baskets for the students on the schools’ homeless list. This year’s goal is to donate 150 baskets to families in need. If you would like more information on this project, go to  Volunteers are needed to help pack and deliver baskets to participating schools.
