Help Central Floridians Get Financially Fit on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

2013-Wordpress---Financially-FitHeart of Florida United Way’s Volunteer Resource Center is seeking volunteers to help residents of Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties become financially fit this Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

In partnership with the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, United Way and other community partners are offering free tax preparation services to low-income individuals and families. However, we need to spread the word about the program to those who may qualify.

On Monday, January 20, 2014, volunteers will be distributing thousands of informational flyers in numerous low- and middle-income communities in the tri-county area. All volunteers will be provided with free LIVE UNITED t-shirts and water bottles.  A quick training will occur at the beginning of each project to prepare volunteers for any questions that they may be asked.
