Bon Appetit! Another Successful Chefs Gala Raises Nearly $300,000

20140510_HFUW_1927This weekend, Heart of Florida United Way welcomed more than 1,000 guests at the 22nd annual Chef’s Gala, which raised nearly $300,000. Twenty-three top chefs from Central Florida’s finest dining establishments collaborated for the region’s premier food and wine pairing event at Epcot® World Showplace. 95 cents of every dollar raised from the event benefits the 70 programs at 50 United Way partner agencies that provide services in the community to support education, income, health and basic needs for thousands of Central Floridians in need.

Co-chairing the 2014 event were Dr. Antonia Novello, executive director of public health policy, Florida Hospital and John Pisan, CFP, regional managing director and senior vice president of Wells Fargo Wealth Management Group. Martie Salt with WFTV introduced the real stars of the night … the chefs.

United Way is grateful for the tremendous show of community generosity! Thanks to Walt Disney World, Florida Technical College, and all of our sponsors that made this event possible! It’s easy to see why Chef’s Gala has been “a tasteful way to make a difference” for 22 years!
