New video highlights how United Way volunteers are helping build a safer community

Heart of Florida United Way (HFUW) recently produced a video that highlights the wonderful work our volunteers are doing in the community. It focuses specifically on how they are helping United Way build a safer community through education, which is one of our four Investing in Results focus areas.

Research shows that children who do well in school are more likely to avoid juvenile crime and graduate from high school with positive options. Volunteers, especially those who mentor and tutor students, can literally change the course of a child’s life – and, in the long run, make our community a safer, healthier place to live.

Talk about an impact! That’s why we’re so grateful to the many dedicated volunteers who serve in our local schools and at many United Way partner agencies, including the Orlando Day Nursery, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida and many others.

The images and statistics you’ll see in the video clearly illustrate how their efforts are making a difference!
